Family Night (Back to School Event)
Every year, PTO and the school come together to host a Family Night on campus to welcome our Calabash Cubs back to the school year, catch up with Calabash friends and make new ones! With a DJ, dance-off, limbo, games, food trucks, and additional family activities, this is a not-to-be-missed event!
Trunk or Treat (End of October)
Trunk or Treat is one of our most beloved annual traditions. Families who sign on to host a trunk decorate their cars in a specific theme or just general Halloween decor -- your choice. Our hosting families dress up in costume, standing near their decorated trunk to hand out goodies (provided by the PTO) to Calabash kids and siblings who trick-or-treat from car to car. A great community event full of Halloween fun!
Winter Music Program (Mid-December)
Vocal music is an important part of the arts program at Calabash, and every winter all our grade levels participate in a Winter Music Program performance. Each grade level chooses songs based on a central theme and the kids perform for an audience of their family members and community. PTO handles the rental of any stage equipment (bleachers, etc.), decorations and costume assistance.
Multicultural Festival (late Spring)
Our annual spring Multicultural Festival is a dance showcase for all our grade levels, highlighting cultures from around the world. Our students and teachers choreograph grade-level routines that culminate in an all-school finale. PTO is thrilled to fund the dance instruction, arrange volunteers to help with costumes, create graphics and programs, and provide logistical support.
Spring Carnival (March/April)
PTO’s largest, most epic event of the year is our annual Spring Carnival. With inflatables, slides, bouncers, game booths, prizes, and DJ and more, this is the highlight of our school year for many families.
Family Events (Throughout The Year)
In addition to our two Movie Nights per year, PTO hosts a number of Family Events throughout the school year. These are not fundraisers, but cost-neutral community events where our families can gather. These typically include: Father/Daughter, Father/Son, Mother/Daughter and Mother/Son events. Past events include Dodger Games, Bowling, Dojo Boom, Art Nights, and more!
