FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH
6:00 - 8:00PM
4501 DESERET DRIVE, WOODLAND HILLS 91364
(the church parking lot at the corner of Mulholland & Deseret)
We're very excited for next Friday's Trunk or Treat event. Trunk hosts are hard at work on the planning for their trunks, and we're looking forward to seeing our Calabash families there! Thank you to everyone who has donated candy to PTO.
Some important information as you prepare for the event:
TO BRING: We won't be selling food or water at the event, so you may want to have dinner in advance and bring water for your family as needed. Also be sure to bring a bag/bucket for your child to use for trick-or-treating. Please leave your pets at home.
PARKING: Parking will be available on the neighborhood streets surrounding the church. If you park on the frontage road parallel to Mulholland, please be aware that no parking is allowed on the Mulholland-side of that street. Cars can only park on the side closest to the church.
ENTRANCE: Our entrance gate (the one on Deseret Drive, closest to Calabash) will open at 6PM. No vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the lot during the event. Upon arrival, kids will receive a glow necklace while supplies last, courtesy of PTO!
BATHROOMS: Since we won't have access to the inside of the church during the event, PTO is bringing in two portable restrooms with sinks inside of them for washing.
SAFETY: The lot is fully gated and we will have security guards and high school volunteers to keep watch at the entrance and exit gates. However, it will be parents' responsibility to watch their children at the event. The trunks will be situated in a big U-shape to encourage kids to stay within the inside of the U, but please set your expectations with them in advance. Though it will be lit, the perimeter of the lot gets fairly dark once the sun goes down. Have a plan with your kids to reunite if they'll be walking around the trunk area with friends. Additionally, like all trick-or-treating, this is not an allergy-free event, so please talk with your kids about any candy they can/can't eat from their buckets!
BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOR: We would love our families' help leaving the church exactly as we found it, picking up candy wrappers, and being respectful guests of the space. We had a wonderful event last year and have no doubt this year will be the same!
During the event, we should have enough candy for all kids to make at least 2-3 trips around the lot, depending on your arrival time. Once the candy runs out, the trick-or-treating may be over but the fun will continue as our DJ kicks off a fun Halloween dance party!
Trunk or Treat is a beloved tradition at Calabash, and we can't wait to see you there!
